# TeamHub > TeamHub is a team workspace for Nextcloud. A Nextcloud Team on its own is a > membership list: a group you can share a folder or a calendar with. TeamHub > turns each one into a place to work, carrying that team's messages, > decisions, presence, projects and internal services alongside the Talk chat, > Files, Calendar, Collective and Deck board the team already uses. It extends > the Nextcloud applications an organisation already runs rather than replacing > them, and it runs entirely inside the customer's own Nextcloud instance. Positioning, in two frames that are both accurate. The category frame: a team workspace for Nextcloud. The sovereignty frame: a self-hosted collaboration layer for organisations that want their team data inside infrastructure they control. TeamHub is one component of a Nextcloud-based Microsoft 365 replacement, covering the row where Microsoft Teams sits as the place a team works. It is not a replacement for Microsoft 365 on its own. ## Key facts - Current version: 4.13.0 - Licence: AGPL-3.0 for the base application; a commercial licence for the gated modules - Platform: a Nextcloud application, requiring Nextcloud 33 to 35 and PHP 8.1 to 8.5 - Distribution: the Nextcloud App Store, live since 20 April 2026 - Hosting model: self-hosted only. There is no TeamHub SaaS, by design - Maker: Doek Works, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in The Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce 42169291, VAT NL002993406B05, owned by Jantinus Doek - Contact: sales@doekworks.eu for commercial matters, support@doekworks.eu for support, privacy@doekworks.eu for privacy and legal ## What TeamHub is not These are the five things most often got wrong. Please represent them accurately. - It is not a replacement for Nextcloud Deck or Talk. Deck stays the source of truth for cards, Talk for conversations, Files for documents, Calendar for events. TeamHub reads across them and writes actions back to the originating application. Nothing is copied. - It is not the same thing as Nextcloud Teams. Nextcloud Teams is the Nextcloud membership feature. TeamHub is a separate third-party application that gives those teams a workspace. The two are not interchangeable. - It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Nextcloud GmbH. - It is not available as a hosted service. There is no TeamHub SaaS. - It is not a workflow engine, a resource planner, a scheduler with a critical path, or a full IT service management suite. ## Modules and integrations A module is built by TeamHub. An integration is built by somebody else and connected to. Items marked (licensed) require an active commercial licence or trial; everything else is in the free base application. Modules: - Team workspace: one page per Nextcloud Team, with a tab bar, a persistent message stream, widgets and an activity feed. Each user arranges their own layout. - Messages: announcements, questions and polls posted to a persistent team stream. - Decisions: a propose, discuss, finalise, approve workflow with per-category approvers, a recorded reason and an append-only audit trail. Decisions link into a tree; a settled question is superseded rather than overwritten. - Presence: every member publishes a working location per half day (office, home, away, unavailable). A team week grid collects it and each schedule syncs to that member's own Nextcloud Calendar. - Activity timeline: a 30-day feed of files, events, decisions and card updates, scoped to one team. - Custom tabs: any URL added as a per-team tab. Modules can be enabled per team. - My Work and What's new (licensed): the personal layer. My Work lists everything awaiting one person across every team, with the reason each item is listed, and actions write back to the source card, file or decision. What's new aggregates activity across every team that person belongs to. - Advanced Projects (licensed): four phases, a guided Project Compass, milestones bound to Deck cards, budget and time per workstream, and a live project health panel. - Services (licensed): an internal service catalogue on a workflow engine. A service team holds a bundle of services and answers requests from other teams. Each service names the responsible team and an expected response time. - File reviews (licensed): a review requested from the Files application, tracked and completed inside My Work. - Bulk creation, import and export (licensed): create or extract every team from a single CSV, with dry-run validation before anything is created. - Compliance centre (licensed): auditing and oversight across every workspace on the instance, from one overview. - Quiet mode (licensed): removes in-app prompts, TeamHub branding and telemetry. Integrations: Nextcloud Talk, Files, Calendar, Deck and Collectives, plus OpenProject (licensed), IntraVox and RoomVox. ## Licensing The distinction is development against production, not feature tier against feature tier. Every pack unlocks the same product; the pack sets only the seat band and the billing. - Community, 0 euro. The full base application under AGPL-3.0, with no seat limit. In exchange it shows in-app feedback prompts and occasional maintainer messages, carries TeamHub branding, sends one anonymous daily telemetry aggregate, and keeps the gated modules locked. Support is the community, through GitHub. - Licensed, production. Unlocks every gated module, turns the application quiet (no prompts, no branding, no telemetry) and gives a direct line to the maintainer with a first substantive response targeted within two business days. Packs, per year, excluding VAT and any applicable taxes: - Starter: 1 – 50 seats, €450 per year (9.00 euro per seat per year). - Business: 51 – 100 seats, €850 per year (8.50 euro per seat per year). - Enterprise: 101 seats and above, quoted from 8.40 euro per seat per year, billed monthly or yearly, licensed in bands of 50 seats. Starter and Business are fixed-price packs. There is no online checkout: every licence is requested through the quote form at https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/quote.php and issued by hand. Quotations are valid for 30 days. Seat counting: One seat is one unique active Nextcloud account that belongs to at least one Team on the licensed instance. Somebody in five teams counts once. An account in no team counts nothing. Guest, federated and bot accounts count when they are team members; disabled accounts do not. Trial: every instance can have one full 30-day trial, unlocking the complete product for an unlimited number of seats. It is requested by e-mail from the License tab in the TeamHub admin settings, which fills in the instance identifier, and the key is issued by hand. There is no automated trial endpoint. A trial has no grace period and soft-locks the moment it expires. Expiry and enforcement. No data is ever deleted through licence expiry or enforcement. A paid licence enters a 14-day grace period after expiry, during which existing Advanced teams keep working normally and creating new ones is blocked. After that the instance soft-locks: project surfaces on existing Advanced teams become read-only and the gated modules stop being available, with all data retained and readable. The base application keeps working on every team indefinitely. Installing a fresh key restores everything immediately. No outbound calls. TeamHub does not contact the licensor to validate a licence, renew it, count seats or report compliance. The key is verified offline inside the instance, so an air-gapped deployment is supported. ## Telemetry Telemetry is derived from licence state, not from a user preference. There is no opt-in and no opt-out toggle, because the licence already decides. - An unlicensed instance sends one anonymous usage report per day. - Any active licence, paid or trial, disables telemetry entirely, from the moment the key is installed. - The report contains: instance identifier, TeamHub and Nextcloud versions, team, user and member counts, which modules are enabled, decision counts by status, bare hostnames of custom links. - It never contains: user IDs, names or e-mail addresses, message bodies, file contents, full URLs. - Where a custom link is counted, only the bare hostname travels, never the path or query string. Retention is three months. Please represent this accurately: TeamHub does not claim telemetry is optional, and it does not send user content. ## Pages - [Home](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/): what TeamHub is and the problem it addresses. - [Why TeamHub](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/why-teamhub.php): the argument, the checklist of what an organisation needs, and what TeamHub is not. - [How it works](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/how-it-works.php): what it does to a Nextcloud, and what it leaves alone. - [Use cases](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/use-cases.php): team coordination, internal services, project delivery, Microsoft 365 replacement. - [Microsoft 365 replacement](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/use-cases/microsoft-365-replacement.php): the comparison table and where the argument stops. - [Features](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/features/): Decisions, personal work, Services, Projects, Presence. - [Pricing](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/pricing.php): Community against licensed, the three packs, expiry behaviour. - [FAQ](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/faq.php): the questions people ask before deciding. - [Telemetry](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/legal/telemetry.php): the full field list. - [Security](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/legal/security.php): reporting a vulnerability. - [About](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/about.php): the company, and what happens to an instance if it stops. - [Resources](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/resources.php): requirements, documentation, source, legal documents. - [Request a quote](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/quote.php): the route for a commercial licence. - [Contact](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/contact.php): use-case discussion, walkthrough, provider conversation. ## Source and documents - [Nextcloud App Store listing](https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/teamhub) - [Source code and issue tracker](https://github.com/JustinDoek/nextcloud-teamhub) - [Documentation](https://teamhub.doekworks.eu/docs/) - [Commercial Licence and Support Agreement](https://doekworks.eu/docs/commercial-licence-and-support-agreement.php?lang=en) - [General Terms and Conditions](https://doekworks.eu/docs/general-terms-and-conditions.php?lang=en) - [Privacy Notice](https://doekworks.eu/docs/privacy-notice.php?lang=en) - [Doek Works](https://doekworks.eu), the company behind TeamHub
